Hello, My name is Nicole and I have Endometriosis as well as Crohn’s disease for over 20+ years now. I just had a major resection of my GI tract in November 2024 and had an endo surgery in Feb 2024. This needed to be done prior to trying to conceive with my husband. As time went on for 2+ years, we were unable to conceive and have had nothing but struggles since. I recently went through an IVF cycle, but they could not get to my dominant ovary, which had 6x the amount of follicles. I woke up devastated with only 3 eggs and beyond the 5 days, only 1 made it. My ovary is behind my uterus most likely due to all my GI surgeries and the scar tissue holding it there. As anyone can imagine time is ticking and the expenses are adding up as our insurance does not even cover 1 cycle. As we embark on our second cycle, we are in need of out of pocket expenses. We are trying so hard to have little ones as everyone around us is having them and I feel like I let my husband down since I’m the one with health issues. It’s upsetting when such a simple thing has become so complicated, emotional and expensive. We have depleted our savings for the first round and are now left with debt and needing more money for the second round. Any bit helps and I do not wish this devastation and stress on anyone else. It has been constant on the phone with the pharmacy, IVF clinic, Insurance company, drug company etc. while holding a full time job. We’re just looking to have children of our own and did not expect this at all. Thank you for anyone considering 🙂
